How DevKeepr happened
We met for the first time at Laracon EU 2025. Both deeply involved in NativePHP, we'd been collaborating online for months but never actually sat down together.
Turns out we'd both been building little desktop apps to solve the same problems. Willem had a CI workflow monitor. Eser had built a deployment tracker. We both had tools for cleaning up idle projects, managing global packages, keeping local environments in check. A bunch of small utilities that made our day-to-day dev work smoother.
The conversation quickly shifted from "we should share notes" to "we should combine all of this into one app." A swiss army knife for dev machines. Something like CleanMyMac, but built by developers who actually understand what those 400 node_modules folders are doing to your disk.
We started work in late 2025. About a thousand commits later, DevKeepr was born.
DevKeepr is built with NativePHP. We use it to push the limits of what the framework can do, and feed improvements back upstream. Building DevKeepr makes NativePHP better for everyone.
