## First Launch

After installation, open DevKeepr from your Applications folder. On first launch it will ask to register itself as a startup item. This is recommended since DevKeepr works passively in the background to detect IDE activity, track Claude sessions, monitor hibernation schedules, and more.

## Next Steps

Start by adding some projects under the **Projects** button in the sidebar. DevKeepr will detect their stacks and set up sensible defaults. Then head over to [Configuration](/docs/general/getting-started/configuration) to customize things further.
